Starting tonight, AGH Sports Medicine and Dr Sam Akhavan, Sports Medicine doctor for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Pirates, will be delivering free seminars in the SportsPlex lounge, from 6:30-9:30pm. There will be important discussions for parents and coaches, and players, to understand ACL injury reduction processes (Mon - Thurs) as well as Asthma Control for athletes (Wednesday only).

Coaches can pick up a complimentary AGH Medical Kit, and all athletes can be screened on the spot for functional mobility. All in attendance will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the AGH Medical Staff, who will discuss the AGH presence at the SportsPlex, the various offerings for functional training and injury prevention, and even the opportunities for any injured athletes at the SportsPlex to be seen by AGH athletic trainers for evaluations and treatment, something that is offered at only a few indoor facilities throughout the country.

The AGH programming, and informative discussions, can be VERY beneficial for the modern-day athlete who will incur various injuries throughout their career.

The SportsPlex and AGH are working together to provide the Athletic Training needs of a Professional Team, for all athletes in the facility. I ask that you take advantage of the opportunity to keep your players aware, healthy, and on the field.
